Observership ProgrammeWe allow overseas doctors as observers for a period of up to 4 weeks. This period CANNOT be extended. Observers get an opportunity to participate in the department's academic activity and join the clinical staff for ward rounds, outpatient clinics and operating room sessions. However, they cannot-be involved in direct patient care; nor are they allowed to make entries in patients' case notes or write prescriptions for patients. They are also not allowed to scrub in for operative procedures. They are only allowed to observe and will have no hands-on experience.
Observers will also have to make their own arrangements for boarding and lodging for the duration of their observership. There will also be no payment or any financial commitment from the department or the hospital. Candidates interested in observership at our department can write to our fellowship coordinator and provide the following information.
